A Tale of These Contemptible Suicides by Richard D France tells the autobiographical story of his experiences with mental health and staying in various psychiatric hospitals.
Being influenced by substance abuse, Richard sank into depression and questioned his Deaf Identity. This book chronicles his experiences, especially his issues with getting accessible communication.
The book starts with his first psychiatric hospital stay back in 1993 and goes to his final suicide attempt and recovery in 2015.
It is a stark reminder of how important it is to understand that mental health is something that affects everyone regardless of race, creed, age and gender and offers an insight into one person's harrowing journey into the dark recesses of the mind.
