Eternal Poses Paintings
My artworks in black and white figures showcase my unique perspective and ability to convey deep emotions and meaning through my art. These representations allow viewers to observe the subtle nuances of the human form, presented in what may initially appear as a random application. The figures themselves evoke a sense of everyday street scenes, capturing moments of individuals standing on street corners or inside buildings. These images are ever-changing and shifting, resonating emotionally with viewers.
My deliberate choice to predominantly use a monochromatic palette in my artworks stems from frustration and caution surrounding the portrayal of people from different ethnic backgrounds. My concerns about political racism influence it. By opting for black and white tones, I create an intentional ambiguity, making it difficult to discern the racial identities depicted.
This deliberate decision to limit the colour palette reflects my weariness and deep-seated concerns regarding political racism. Its presence in our society genuinely disheartens me. Although my monochromatic pieces may not explicitly address the issue, they serve as a medium for reflection and provoke thought on matters of race and inclusivity.
Art has the power to challenge societal norms and spark conversations. Encouraging me to explore ways my artworks can engage with and address political racism allows me to channel my frustrations and contribute to positive change through my art.
